Posting Photos

Postby marcib » Wed Oct 21, 2009 10:57 pm

I promised you all EASY photo posting... Most of the time, posting photos is ;overreact;
Here it is like :^^:

NOTE: I have set a size limit of 900 x900 pixels for pictures. It will allow for a faster upload but still allow a big picture size ....If you try to post anything larger, you will get an error message .. so just resize the pix and try again )

Two ways to post a photo:

If the photo is already on a website or photosharing site like Flicker or Photobucket :

1.Click the IMG button at the top of the post window. This will paste 2 IMG brackets [img} in the post window.

2. Paste the URL of the picture in between the IMG brackets

3. You wont see the photo until you click the PREVIEW button .

4. When you are happy with your post, hit SUBMIT.
If the photo doesnt appear when you click PREVIEW, check to make sure that the URL is between the brackets with no spaces and that a bracket didnt get misplaced.

And .. ;stars; EVEN EASIER THAN THAT :
TO ADD PICTURES DIRECTLY FROM YOUR COMPUTER :
;woohoo;

1. Scroll down below the post window

2. Click on the UPLOAD ATTACHMENT tab

3. Click on BROWSE . This will open a window that shows the files on your computer.

4. Find the Folder the picture is in

5. Click on the file name of the picture

6. Click on ADD THE FILE . The file name will appear under the File comment box but the photo will not appear in the post box yet.
NOTE: the photo cannot be larger than 900 x 900 pixels...

7. Add a comment, if desired, in the FILE COMMENT box

8. If you want to have text with photos scattered through the text, click PLACE INLINE. This will put a piece of code in the post window but the picture itself wont show until you hit PREVIEW.
If you dont click PLACE INLINE, the photo(s) will be pasted at the end of your post.

9.Hit Preview to view .

10. Hit SUBMIT to post .

The photo code will look like this: (attachment=0)rose1.jpg(/attachment)...except with [ instead of ( .
And what you will see in the post will be:

This is a pretty rose:
(attachment=0)rose1.jpg(/attachment)
Here is another pretty rose :
(attachment=0)rose2.jpg(/attachment)

What it will look like posted :
This is a pretty rose:
rose1.jpg

Here is another pretty rose :
rose2.jpg

It sounds more confusing than it is...After you have done it once or twice, you will see that its very easy ............. Really ! ;pacifier; ;confused; ;thumps;

Mary,
You just posted in the post window... :)
I guess I may be calling it the wrong thing...What I mean by post window is the blank space that opens that you type your post into .... ]
Do what you just did when you sent your question to this thread.
Then scroll down to below the window you are typing in when you're writing a post
Scroll past the SAVE, PREVIEW and SUBMIT buttons..
You ll see two tabs:
one says Options...one says Upload attachments..
Click on Upload attachments

ok. Now I am posting photos, but in my album, I have titled the whole thing as the title of the first photo. I can't seem to edit that title. It's sand blasted haunted house, but it really should just be a name for the album, I think. any ideas on how to delete that title? Thanks in advance! Mary

Mary ,
If you click EDIT , you can go back into your post and change anything... including the title of the post ...
The only thing you cant do is edit someone else's post) ..

New tile jobs

Postby Paul Lewing » Mon Jan 30, 2017 1:45 pm

Hi, All. A while back I mentioned on the PPIO list that I was working on some interesting tile projects and described them. Several people said they'd like to see them when they were finished. Well, it often takes a long time to get photos of installed work back, but I finally have some. These are also on my tile web site. I especially enjoyed doing the church mural. It's made me want to do portraits and I'd love to do more like this. If you know a church that would like something like this, send this along, please.
