I have just completed another plate using the same technique and swan design, but this time the design has a dark border around the rim of the 7" round plate.

I applied dark blue lustre using a swirling motion on the border rim. Although the lustre was applied quite thinly, it did however fire to a darker colour than what I was hoping for, so I then applied Mother of Pearl of this area when I did the rest of the plate. The small scrolls have been penned on using Base for Raised Gold mixed with copaiba medium

It was hard getting the true colour of the lustre as you all are aware that any lustre design is hard to photograph.

I do hope that you enjoy seeing this plate.

Happy painting

Lovely work Maxine... Good design too...I must try to do something in lustre that's not modern...seems hard to do.. But I.m doing a workshop soon. Try to get the hang of controlling the lustre.... Jole
