ads on the forum

Postby marcib » Wed Apr 28, 2010 9:20 am

As many of you know , we have been paying to have the ads removed from the forum ...but this month , after 2 weeks , they appeared again. The reason I am getting from the techs is that the forum is getting so many page hits ( a good thing.. It means a lot of people are reading the forum ) that we no longer fall into the small forum category .
Now, we have to make a decision and I need your help .
Im trying to decide if its worth it to pay a higher fee to have the ads removed .
So I need to know how badly the ads annoy you all ...

Hey Everyone, especially those of you that the ads annoy a great deal.......

Pay your PPIO dues & then you have a right to complain.

Marci, I really appreciate your asking for OUR opinions, BUT I really believe that we have NO right to complain.

Hugs to You, Betty G. and all of the people putting up lessons for all others............ cbcarol

Just speaking for myself....the ads (as they are right now) don't bother me a bit. So far, they have been either at the top or the bottom (or both), but haven't yet interfered with my navigating (even with dialup).
So...OK with me.

Marci, if it is a financial hit to have them "not there" then it is fine with me for them to be there...

I don't mind the ads at all, I have even been known to click on them on other sites, things like the one here right now for silk painting have my coriosity peeked.
They are easy enough to scroll past at the end of the day

I think most of us are familiar enough with the workings of the internet that we have become accustomed to ads and have conditioned ourselves to ignore the ones that do not interest us. As long as the ads are not the pop-up type ads that obstruct the page content, then I think we can tolerate them as long as they remain on the top or bottom of the pages.

The ads don't bother me at all......especially since you have to pay out of pocket to remove them.!! :ppio:
But, I wonder why you have to pay to remove unsolicited ads on your own website ???

The radio buttons for me to vote on the opinion poll are not showing up on my (firefox) browser.
They don't bother me at all. I say make google PAY YOU for them being there! I've actually gone to a couple of the websites using the ads I saw. This day and age I say it's just one more thing that we learn to overlook and/or ignore.
It's not like you are rolling in dough because you started this forum so I say save your money and use it for gas to come see me!
