What painting would you sell, and what would you buy?

Postby eganj1 » Fri Feb 05, 2010 3:46 pm

Phil and I have just been having a discussion about what painting we would you buy if we sold a famous painting, phil says he would sell the Mona Lisa and buy a Canaletto.
i said i'd sell the Mona Lisa and buy a Kurt Jackson, Blockley, Ophelia, a Turner, and a van Gogh if I could make it stretch that far
What would you buy and sell?

I would sell that Van Gogh, and buy a more modern artist, Thomas Kinkade.

I would sell "The Last Supper" cause that doesn't belong in someone's home, and I would buy Georgia O'Keefe's black iris. The rest of the money I would use to have David Bromsted come in and "color splash" my house.

I followed your discussion of what painting would you sell to buy one.
For my part, I would sell any "pompier" paintings from museums to buy one from Pierre Soulage. It is very modern, He is the painter of black. Some of his paintings look like you can see the sun through straw walls.

This is only one I like. You can google Pierre Soulage and you will find some more.
