Jeanene Pepper gave us a class in plaids.
These are some of my picture and what I remember from painting plaids.
We taped with car tape in one direction then sponged our darker color. Fired.
Then taped in the other direction and sponged a lighter color. Fired.
Taped and applied an accent, darkest color, in both directions.
These are picture of the first taping. I dont have any of the second or third taping.

This one is a little blurry but should give you some ideas

These are some of the finished pieces.

I hope this helps. Please!! I hope if anyone can add to this or can give better suggestions you will feel free to do so.

Thanks for the help. Since I will be painting a red, white, and blue :) plaid shirt on my grandson's portrait (if I get brave enough to try) I won't be able to tape it off but I look forward to using this technique on something else. ;thanks;
